• A feminist. A radical thinker. A terrific writer. The name is Prapanchan. His works show his broad mindedness and his careful analysis of the relationship between men and women. 

• At a time when men dominated the literary arena, it was Prapanchan who motivated more women to step in. Along with motivating women writers, he spoke publicly of their works, to help the work gather a greater momentum. Though he was in the ruling party of that time, he never hesitated to give his honest remarks in the public.

• His works span across a wide range of formats such as short stories, novels, essays, etc,. A lot of his works were translated into other languages like Hindi, Telugu, Kannada, English and French. His play ‘Muttai’ is a part of the syllabus of Delhi University.
